The iconic Alpine Challenge at Falls Creek, Victoria, from April 11th to 13th, 2026, offers a variety of distances, ranging from 10km to 100 miles.
This event is renowned as one of the toughest, most challenging, and rewarding mountain trail runs in Australia, and perhaps even the Southern Hemisphere, featuring seven different distances.
The 100-mile (160km) course includes six major climbs with 7,600m of ascent and descent, encompassing Mt. Feathertop, Mt. Hotham, Mt. McKay, Spion Kopje, Mt. Nelse, and Victoria's highest peak, Mt. Bogong, along with five river crossings. The 100km course includes over 4,000m of ascent and descent. The 60km course offers over 2,000m of ascent and descent. For those running the 42km option, you'll experience over 900m of ascent. The shorter distances provide an opportunity to enjoy great trail running and explore historic huts along single tracks, with stunning views of Heathy Spur and Rocky Valley Dam.
Participants in distances from the Marathon and up can choose to compete solo, in teams, or as relay teams.
