The Black Mountain Run Up & Power Walk takes place on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, in Canberra, ACT. This free event, organised by the Australian Mountain Running Association, is part of a monthly series held on the third Tuesday of each month.
Participants tackle a 2.6 km course starting from Clunies Ross Street, Acton, and finishing at the summit of Black Mountain. The route begins with an 800-meter flat section along a 4WD trail beside the Botanic Gardens fence. Runners and walkers then turn left onto Frith Road, ascending for approximately 400 meters before turning right at the Centennial Trail signpost. After passing through the Canberra Nature Park gate, the course turns left onto the signposted Summit Trail. Near the summit, a final right turn on the Centennial Trail leads to the finish line.
The event welcomes all fitness levels, offering a scenic and challenging experience that promotes health and endurance amidst Canberra’s natural beauty.
